“A compass, like a mentor, points you in the right direction, but the journey is yours to navigate.”
Our Story Transformative Mind-Body Health Support
As close friends, DD and Jenn drew upon their extensive experience in the demanding healthcare industry to better understand the challenges of balancing physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Their shared journey of self-discovery inspired a profound exploration of the deep connection between mind and body, leading to meaningful change and transformation.
By stepping back, slowing down, and tuning into their physical sensations, they underwent a remarkable transformation that led to the emergence of The FELT Wisdom. This understanding embodies the journey of insight.
The FELT Wisdom offers a unique opportunity to explore your inner landscape with curiosity.
The F.E.L.T. Wisdom Acronym
Initially, DD interpreted the F.E.L.T. acronym as "Feel Everything, Love Together," while Jenn suggested an alternative: "Feel Embrace, Love Triumph." Since every individual is unique, acronyms can differ from person to person. We invite you to create your own F.E.L.T. mnemonic as a starting point for your journey.
Like you, our journey is evolving.
About DD
DD Travers, Family Nurse Practitioner, MindBody Coach, Somatic Practitioner, Registered Yoga Teacher, CCTP-II, and Peer Mentor for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Hello, I’m DD, founder of The FELT Wisdom, LLC.
With over 30 years in healthcare and a lifetime of navigating hearing loss since age two, I understand the barriers to well-being, especially for those navigating & working in healthcare and frontline professions, where chronic stress and trauma are constant challenges.
I’ve lived this reality firsthand. As a former paramedic and now a Somatic Nurse Practitioner specializing in chronic stress and trauma, I know how relentless pressure and high-stakes decisions take a toll on the Mind-Body system. My mission is to help frontline professionals and those they serve reconnect with their bodies, regulate stress, and restore vitality through mind-body coaching and somatic therapies—both on and off duty.
My approach is rooted in trauma-informed, person-centered care, integrating evidence-based and experiential practices. Through my Safety, Ready, Reset, Go, and Soma’s Door models, I provide real-time stress release and trauma healing tools, helping individuals transition from survival to well-being and contentment.
Blending medical expertise with somatic wisdom, I integrate science and lived experience to guide individuals toward self-directed healing and resilience.
MindBody Coaching for change, somatic therapy to discover and evolve change naturally and holistically.
I find joy in various activities such as authentic movement and yoga, journaling, taking walks, immersing myself in nature, playing with my dog, expressing my creativity, cultivating radical living, going on adventures, spending quality time with family and friends, and meditating.
I am an integrative nurse practitioner at Connective Wellness, LLC, specializing in EDS, POTS, MCAS, and various chronic conditions. At The FELT Wisdom, LLC, I do not practice or prescribe as an APRN but provide education and recommendations.
My favorite animal, the bald eagle, symbolizes resilience and recovery from near extinction. It represents hope and emphasizes the importance of conserving the natural world.
The bald eagle is officially the national bird of the US.
About Jenn
Hello, I'm Jenn, and I'm thrilled to welcome you here.
I am the office director and co-owner of The FELT Wisdom. Over the past two years, I've been undergoing EMDR therapy and have been in talk therapy for several years to address complex trauma. The Covid pandemic brought significant work-related trauma and stress into my life; I was looking for another modality outside of my current therapy.
During my research, I discovered the importance of the mind-body connection, which led me to explore the profound impact of Somatic Stress Release (SSR), which has been transformative for me. SSR has provided insights into how stress manifests in the body and taught me methods to release it. This experience led me to focus on somatics, and I’m delighted to offer my services to support you on your journey.
I am Certified in Somatic Stress Release and Polyvagal Informed. I am working towards my MindBody Coaching and Somatic Attachment & EMDR certifications.
My professional background encompasses hotel management, certification as a medical assistant, and emergency medical services as an EMT and dispatcher.
I am a trauma survivor.
I love spending quality time with my dogs and cats, tidying up my home, driving beyond the city, practicing mindfulness, and enjoying walking and running. I also appreciate dressing up occasionally, though I prefer a casual look. I cherish moments with my friends and family.
My animal is the black panther…
Black Panthers sends an invitation to delve into the hidden realms of the dreamer’s psyche, exploring repressed emotions, desires, or aspects of the self. She symbolizes courage, beauty, grace, protection, independence, and innate strength.
