DD’s Work Experience:

I began my healthcare journey at a medical laboratory in Massachusetts as an accessioning technician at 16. I progressed to assistant accessioning supervisor and phlebotomist, and I later worked in local hospitals in New Hampshire while studying liberal arts at the University of New Hampshire. Subsequently, I acquired my Emergency Medical Technician Certification in 1996, transitioning to roles in private ambulance companies in the greater Boston area. By 2000, I became a paramedic and Director of Staff Development in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for 16 years. Alongside, I ventured into massage therapy, establishing a private practice in Massachusetts while pursuing further education at Northeastern University in Boston.

After relocating to New Hampshire, I shifted from Emergency Medicine to phlebotomy at a local hospital, concurrently pursuing a nursing degree. I served in various capacities as a nurse, including cardiothoracic surgical care, urgent care, primary care, and underserved community settings. I also became a registered Yoga Teacher, engaging in teaching at private yoga studios and a local hospital in NH. Progressing in nursing, I obtained a master's degree in 2019. I worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Health Care for the Homeless for 5 years, leading the street medicine program and medical mobile unit. I earned the Mind, Body, and Somatic modalities certifications during this time and founded The F.E.L.T. Wisdom.

  • Inspired by the legacies of Florence Nightingale, Lillian Wald, and Dr. Jim Withers, I am dedicated to meeting individuals where they are—physically, emotionally, and socially—to provide compassionate support in spaces where they feel most comfortable. My experience in street medicine has deepened my understanding of our shared humanity and revealed critical gaps in the healthcare system, driving my commitment to more accessible and inclusive supportive care.
