Mind-Body Coaching versus Somatic Therapies
Both coaching and therapy utilize mind-body techniques and practices to shed light on your inner world guided by your internal compass.
Coaching
You want to live a more satisfying and inspired life in alignment with your values.
You wish to create a life structure that supports living your best self.
A coach is like a guide, helping you develop new habits and become aware of how your thoughts, emotions, and body interact. You and the coach, as a team, focus on personal growth to help you feel more balanced and in tune with yourself in everyday life. The coach works with you to build skills and practices that support your well-being.
Our approach to mind-body coaching is rooted in the belief that personal growth and healing are most powerful when guided by intentions rather than rigid goals. While goals often focus on fixed outcomes, intentions allow flexibility, curiosity, and a deeper alignment with your values and authentic self.
You are in control of the compass, and the coach will assist you in navigating your roadmap to discover the treasures within, leading you toward a transformation journey.
At The FELT Wisdom, we support you, free from judgment, through a creative and embodied process. We help you uncover your potential to make powerful choices that align with your core values.
Let’s walk this journey together, cultivating presence, awareness, and possibility.
Therapies
You feel the impact of unresolved past circumstances and need support to resolve their effect on your life. This could be a stressful or challenging life experience that left you feeling hurt, scared, angry, or disempowered or that has left you feeling unfulfilled.
You experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, despair, and hopelessness and want support in feeling better.
You are ready to dive more deeply into understanding yourself, your personality, and the influence of your past to live a more fulfilling, satisfying, and love-filled life.
Somatic therapies include various body-oriented techniques for stress reduction, trauma relief, and emotional regulation. “Bottom-up” approaches include Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR), Mindfulness practices, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). We integrate top-down approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
There is no one-fits-all model or modality; we integrate what works for you.
This is more like a deep healing process. It’s used to help you work through emotional or physical pain, often related to difficult life experiences, adversity, or trauma, by focusing on how these experiences are stored in your body. The practitioner invites you to explore and release this tension, leading to healing and recovery.
We are practitioners, not clinicians or counselors. Our focus is on uncovering the root cause within the body rather than concentrating on diagnoses.
Determining whether somatic coaching versus traditional counseling is right for you
Seeking somatic coaching and therapy is a powerful choice for those who feel stuck in stress, overwhelmed, or disconnection patterns and are looking for a body-based approach to healing and well-being. Unlike traditional counseling, which often focuses on thoughts, emotions, and past experiences through verbal processing, somatic work engages the body's wisdom to support regulation, resilience, and transformation.
For those who:
✅ Feel they’ve talked through their experiences but still feel stuck in their body’s stress responses
✅ Want tools to regulate their nervous system and build resilience in real-time
✅ Prefer a present-moment, experiential approach rather than deep cognitive analysis
Somatic coaching and therapy provide a path to reconnect with the body’s natural rhythms, release stored tension, and rediscover a sense of vitality, clarity, and balance. It’s not about choosing one approach over another—it’s about finding the right fit for where you are and where you want to go!
